A litter de la Maison du Garde-Barrière

A litter

born 01/31/1994
Sire: Rec. Champ. SÁNDOR von Anitzberg (black ardoise * HD clear * PRA clear * recommended for breeding * Champion Slovakia)
Dam: ARWA Zevar CZ, SchH1 (Import from Slovakia, born in Czech * black * HD clear)

whelped 5/6, stillborn 1/3, raised 5/2 (1(1 fawn, 4/1 black)

  • APOLLO - black - he came to a couple in Lower Austria - both retired - and had the most beautiful life being a single dog. With 10 years he came back to where he was born. You can read more about this in his memory page
  • ARAMIS - black - he came to a couple being teachers and has a great life in an old farm house
  • ARISTIDE - black - he was placed only when he was nearly one and a half year old and came to a couple with a German Shepherd girl. For Aristide this was just great, as he had been growing up with our "Marko" and has had lots of fun with him
  • ARON - black - this boy was a bit longer with us, as his owners went on holiday before they picked him up. He fooled around very much here with Aristide and liked to turn the house upside down together with him. He then joined his life with a Boxer girl. He died on 03/05/2001 - he had to be put down because of very bad arthrosis in the spine
  • ATOS "Caruso" - fawn - his owners only wanted him, and only a dog from here. He lived together with a Newfoundland girl and had a very lively life. Completely unexpected he died much too early on 01/02/2000 caused by a thrombosis in connection with an intestinal occlusion. His owners wanted once again a Briard from here, but as we did not have a litter when they contacted as, they decided for another breed
  • AKIRA - black - this girl lived nearby in the neighborhood and had company from a mixed breed girl, for a short time also a Briard boy, a Beagle and a Bernese Mountaindog girl. Akira died on 02/15/2007, so only shortly after her 13th birthday
  • ALYSHA - fawn - she came to Vienna and had for a long time a comfortable life together with a German Shepherd girl, which came to the house after her. Since 09/10/2006 KANDIS "Chili" de la Maison du Garde-Barrière was her companion.  Lishi passed on March 13, 2009, at the age of a bit more than 15 years.

B litter de la Maison du Garde-Barrière

B litter

10/04/1997 - 08/18/2011
Sire: Rec. Sél. DARTAGNAN des Monts d'en Crauzille, Elite A (France * grey born grey * HD clear * recommended for breeding)
Dam: ARWA Betkin dvor (Import from Slovakia * black ardoisée * HD 1/0)

whelped 0/1, raised 0/1 (grey born black)

BATIDA DE COCO - grey born black - the first grey born black girl in Austrian breeding - she came to a family which had had already two Briards that died one after the other within a short time.

After Arwa B. had made holiday together with "Batida" and her owners, she decided that she would more likely live together with her daughter than here in the horde. We did not take the decision of "Arwa" easily, but to see how she kind of suffered, forced us to let her go at the age of five and a half years. Arwa B. was always very happy when we visited her, but she avoided it to got with us to the car when we said good-bye - probably she was afraid that we would take her back home again. When she was here visiting us, she liked to come and felt comfortable, but she was also pleased when she could go. Only when a third Briard came to her house (Einstein out of our E litter), she suddenly wanted to get into our car when we were visiting her.

Batida is extremely intelligent, as we have got to know rather early from her owners. She tought herself tracking (just for fun in the forest when she was out for a walk), going up and down a narrow wooden spiral staircase, and lots of more things. Her owner and ourselves often said for fun that this might be caused by having the intelligence of all the other puppies which had not been born.

5 years Batida was the only dog in the house, because her mother Arwa B. and Einstein had unfortunately already gone over the Rainbow Bridge. On August 18, 2011, Batida followed them at the age of nearly 14 years.

whelped 3/3, raised 3/3 (all black), 1/1 CSNB Carrier, 0/2 CSNB clear, 2/0 CSNB unknown

  • CHIVAS REGAL - black - died on 08/25/1998 with not even being six months old, because he was rolled over by his owner - memory page
  • CHAOS - black, CSNB Carrier, HD B - Export to Sweden - he remained with us until December because of the quarantine rules in Sweden. His owners turned to be gorgeous friends, and I visited them and this wonderful offspring from here in May 2005. Chaos died on 09/04/2007
  • CLOCHARD - black - was placed by his first owners and came at the age of one and a half year on 11/22/1999 to the owners of deceased Chivas, we don't know when he died, but also he has been rolled over by his owner. How he came off from his former owners can be read in the site Clochard's rescue in last second
  • CHLOÉ - black, CSNB clear, HD clear - Export to Canada, died in the year (was certainly placed by her owners after her "breeding career", as in their opinion one does not keep dogs with which you can't earn any more money)
  • CELINE - black, CSNB clear, HD clear - Export to California, she lived with a breeder, had one litter and then enjoyed her life with the other Briards in the house until she passed at the age of 13.5 years on September 29, 2011
  • CHAMPAGNE CHEZ CACHAREL - black, CSNB Carrier - Export to Australia - she was here until shortly before her first birthday (because of the Australien quarantine rules); already one day after her one month quarantine she was in the show ring and won, and one week later she got BOB at the Sydney Royal show (was placed by her owners somewhere, so we don't know if she is still alife) - the beginning of her show career

  • EINSTEIN NOIR - CSNB Carrier - he was some weeks longer with us and then came to "Arwa" and "Batida", also he died much too early: on 09/06/2006 he had to be put down because of the aftereffects after a treatment agains Borreliose
  • ECSTASY NOIR "Romeo" - CSNB clear, HD clear - Export to Pennsylvania - he was a successful show dog (Champion) and stud, unfortunately he died much too early on 11/24/2006: he was killed in a fire together with his sister and a mixed breed girl - his small memory page in memory Romeo

"Shadow" passed on Jan. 6, 2010 - completely unexpected and ouf course too early
