Today our Frizzy (FRIZZANTE FURIOSO GRIS de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) celebrates his 13th birthday. We know this will be his last birthday and his last Christmas as he is already very week ...... mainly caused by arthritis in one of his ellbows. But as he is still walking around and lively, grabbing his toys from time to time, we are not yet ready to let the boy go to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. A very heartfellt Happy Birthday to the very last kid out of our unique and still so very much missed Yazoo (Sél. LOULOU des Cèdres de la Montagne Noire, CGC). May we be owned by him for some more nice weeks.

Great news from Germany: Needy (Caipirinha's NEEDLESS 2SAY) today - on the Austrian National Day - gave birth to her first puppies - 4 males and 1 female.
Huge congratulations to her owner and our friend Anne (kennel von Shinbashi). All agog with curiosity and interest we will follow the growing up of the small ones, and maybe there will be a grandchild out of our Ula (Multi-Champ. Family Song's ULA) and our Keanu (Multi-Champ WL THE DEVILS ADVOCATE) for us. All the very best for Needy and her sweet puppies!

4 October - in Austria "celebrated" as World Animal Welfare Day: On this day in 1997 our Briard singleton puppy BATIDA DE COCO de la Maison du Garde-Barrière was born. This B litter of our kennel was a "special litter": 2100 miles to the stud and back home, c-section on day 65, dam spayed from the vet at the c-section without our knowledge, full stud fee collected by the stud owner, ...... but for us it was still a "win" because Batida was the very first grey (born black) puppy in Austrian Briard breeding history.

Batida had a great life at dear friends of us who often told and showed us that this girl was highly intelligent: she taught the owner how to go tracking, she climbed up AND DOWN spiral stair cases, ...... They always said as a singleton she got the intelligence of the amount of pups in a full litter. She had a wonderful life full of joy, fun and love - for some years together with her mother Arwa B. and a boy of our E litter, and finally alone for 5 years (after her dam had passed in August 2003 and her friend Einstein in September 2006). On August 18, 2011, at the age of nearly 14 years she passed and left a big hole in the hearts of her owners and her breeders. A candle has been lit in memory of this special Briard girl.

It would be the birthday of our very first Briard Sándor (Rec. Champ. SÁNDOR von Anitzberg) ...... A candle has been lit in memory of a great family member on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
