Now it is official: today the Championship certificates and diplomas from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic Srpska for Hippie (Multi-Champ. von Shinbashi HIGH PROVOCATION) were in the mailbox. Now only the ones of Maverick (Multi-Champ. Caipirinha's NEED 4SPEED), which hopefully also come soon, are missing.
November 26, 2019:
The new treadmill which has been delivered yesterday is set up and working. There are videos of Jag Junior and Jebelle from their first runs on the treadmill. Now nothing excludes the muscle training of Jag Junior for whom the former treadmill was too short. And when the weather is really bad not only the two Briards but also the Chinese Crested will be running on it. The speed can be gradually adjusted from 0,8 - 12 km/h, inclining and declining each 15 % is also possible. A real great part.
November 25, 2019:
Back home from the show weekend in Zagreb/HR with 2 international shows and the Club Specialty of the Toy Breed Club Zagreb with great results of Maverick (Multi-Champ. Caipirinha's NEED 4SPEED). Even though the first international show was not as hoped, I am fully pleased. At the Club Specialty Maverick went Best Veteran, Veteran Club Winner and as a high point Veteran Best In Show Nr. 3. At the second international show Maverick was Veteran Winner and Best Veteran. Now only one more title is mitting for the Croatian Veteran Championship, which we want to gain next year.
A nice weekend with dear friends was once agan over too fast, and our show season 2019 is also over now. Looking forward to 2020.

Happiness and grief unfortunately sometimes go hand in hand. Today I had to say good-bye forever to Naomi (DEJA VU NAOMII Dandy Mate). At the age of 12 years and 8 months she walked to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. She was an uncomplicated, funny and true hairless girl. As she was unhappy at shows and missed plenty of teeth she was spayed the other time and could enjoy each day in the way she wanted. She will be missed - like the other ones are.
Today it is exactly one year that also Voodoo (Champ. Family Song's VOODOO) went on his last journey. For both a candle has been lit. Naomi will be cremated and when I get her urn she will be placed besides all the others which went already. At the moment I still don't have the energy to add a page for her to the memorial homepage.

Back home from three shows in Arad/RO during this weekend (2 x international, 1 x national) with 2 dogs: Maverick (Multi-Champ. Caipirinha's NEED 4SPEED) and Hippie (Multi-Champ. von Shinbashi HIGH PROVOCATION). And again both were very successful. Maverick gained the Veteran Championship of Romania and was Best Veteran in Show at the first international show.
Hippie gained the Beauty Championship of Romania and was BOB at the first international show. What a run for both of them..
The shows were wonderfully organized and the weather was great. The hotel lacked with several things but all in all it was ok and it could have been worse.
This time I was joined by my friend Edit from Hungary with whom I could already enjoy some nice hours after the World Dog Show 2018 in Amsterdam, She, too was successful with her junior male and came back home with a new Romanian Junior Champion.

Last weekend there were four shows in Gradiska/BIH (2 x international, 1 x national and 1 Specialty Show Group 9). Maverick (Multi-Champ. Caipirinha's NEED 4SPEED) and Hippie (Champ. von Shinbashi HIGH PROVOCATION) participated and both were successful, both now fulfill all conditions for 2 championships each: Maverick for the Veteran Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well als for the Republic Srpska and Hippie for the Beauty Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well als for the Republic Srpska. Maverick was three times Best Veteran, Hippie got 2 x CACIB, 2 x CAC, 3 x BOS and 1 x BOB.
Even though it rained on both days the shows were just great, totally well organized. Congratulations to the organizers and hats off! Many associations could take an example. We're coming again next year.
The time inbetween the shows was spent with our friends Claudia and her daughter Sandy and their dogs. We have again made new friends and met nice other people and friends.

The memorial days seem to take no end. 17 years ago my first tawmy Briard girl was born: Zabou (ALOAZABOU du Noble Nid). Way too early - at the age of nearly 8 years - I had to say good-bye to her forever. A soul of a dog, I wish we had had more time together. The lit candle shall show her that she is unforgotten.

Back home from the double CACIB show in Sárvár/Hungary, where Maverick (Multi-Champ. Caipirinh's NEED 4SPEED) and Hippie (Champ. von Shinbashi HIGH PROVOCATION) had been shown. Maverick for the first time in veteran class and Hippie had her premiere in champion class. The veteran was achieved with Best Veteran and Hippie got a CAC on the first day and the Res. CAC on the second.
Except the rain on both days it was a nice show on spacious grounde where one can go to again.

And 20 years ago today my Briard E litter de la Maison du Garde-Barrière was born. The thoughts are with all six of this great breeding ...... and with their parents. The glow of the lit candle shall show them on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge that I am thinking of them.

May 2, 2019:
Time has come, the short holiday ends and after breakfast the car was packed and the homeward journey started. Again we made several rests but could travel well as also today the traffic was ok and the border controls not bad.
A big thank you goes to Susi for the nice company and especially that she participated in paying the costs of this trip. I hope she is ready to make such a tour again with me so that we can hertily laugh and she recounts great and incredibly stories of her working life. One thing is for sure: latest next year I will go there again, maybe even longer than this time. The leisure opportunities are great and one can really relax there in a great way.
This day is actually a very sad day for me: It is a year today that my beloved Keanu (Multi-Champ. Whisperingln' THE DEVILS ADVOCATE) has left me totally unexpected and went over the Rainbow Bridge. Every now and then I had tears in my eyes during driging home hidden behind the sun glasses, because I miss this endearing boy so very much. I wish so very much that he was still here and would make me daily smile with his funny side. ......
May 1, 2019:
The most important first: A very Happy Birthday to the sweet, successful Hippie (von Shinbashi HIGH PROVOCATION) who celebrates her 2nd birthday today. Of course she will get extra treats.
The show today was totaly the opposite of the previous days (not only for us): we left the ring with result very good, but I totally did not care because Hippie gained something with the last results of which I had never dared to dream of.
We spent some more time in a pub garden with Claudia and Sandy prior leave-takging. A big consolation is that in May I want to meet at least Sandy again. I am looking forward to that.
Today was the warmest day and therefore, Susi and I enjoyed some hours in the sunshine on the patio prior to driving to Zadar in the early evening to take a look at the historic city and to take more photos of our short holiday. The stroll through the city was beautiful and we shopped few things before we drove back to the resort. There we started packing a bit (Susi nearly all her stuff, me less), and then we decided before long to go to a pub - Ula joined us, Hippie preferred to sleep in the bed. Today we decided to have creps which were just delicious. I then packed my stuff till deep in the night while Susi went to bed. What a pity that tomorrow is departure. I could withstand here longer.
April 30, 2019:
Until now everything went perfectly with the shows ...... more than perfect: Hippie got at the recent 4 shows four times CAC and therewith fulfills the conditions for the title Croatian Beauty Champion. Furthermore she was twice Winners Bitch and three times BOS. I am overwhelmed, I had not expected such great success. Now she even has her first prospective entitlement for the title International Beauty Champion. The application for the Croatian Championship could be filled out, be paid and be submitted at the show ground. From tomorrow on, when Hippie is 2 years of age, she is entitled to bear this title.
The weather had also been on our side: even though it had heavily rained during two nights, once even with a heavy thunderstorm, it was dry during the days and partly sunny. Hippie and Ula enjoy the short vaccation as much as Susi and I do. The beach is very beautiful and spacious but we could have left the bathing clothes at home. With max. 16°C during the days we ran around and about in warm clothes - except in the show ring. Well, it could have been worse.
You can nearly buy everything on the areal of the Zaton Holiday Resort, and there are lots of restaurants and pub side by side. Until now we have eaten excellently, of course things which we don't want to pay for at home as too expensive.
We have found great new friends: Claudia and her daughter Sandy from Bavaria, who lived directly next to our mobile home. Both of them are really great and we daily spent lots of nice hours together, even until deep in the night and with lots of laughter. Besides that Sandy helped me a bit with the styling of Hippie, and I am incredibly thankful for that. I am looking forward to the next show where I am going to meet them again. Unfortunately they are already departing tomorrow as Sandy has to go to work on Friday. The last evening prior to our own departure Susi and I have to spend alone.
In the afternoon we drove to the little town Nin, have made a stroll through town, bought some souvenirs, had a coffee and took lots of photos. When I am back home I will set up a photo album of that short holiday, and of course photos of the shows will be updated.
April 26, 2019:
Today was departure for 7 days to Croatia with Hippie (von Shinbashi HIGH PROVOCATION) and her grandma Ula (Multi-Champ. Family Song's ULA) to the Zaton Holiday Resort for the five days show circuit Zadar. My friend Susi joins us.
Driving was comfortable and even though it was Friday there was less traffic on the roads and at the borders than I had thought. With four rests we drove with nice weather and it took us about 8 hours for the nearly 690 km. Unfortunately after our arrival it started raining heavily and we were not in the mood to undertake something. So we made ourself comfortable in the rented and spacious mobile home (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen fully equipped, living/dining area, TV and WiFi, big patio with big table and chairs as well as camping beds). Hippie was bathed and groomed to be pretty for tomorrow's firt show day - for the first time in intermediate class.
It is 5 shows during 5 days: 4 international and inbetween one national. The online information of the Croatian Kennel Club was excellent, and therefore we could already see on our arrival day at which time we had to be at the show ring each day. And the best: it did not even take us 10 minutes to walk to the show area. This way we could plan our free time well for shopping, strolling, beach visit and rides to points of interest. Only the weather had to be on our side.
April 25, 2019:
Ula (Multi-Champ. Family Song's ULA) got her stitches of the gallbladder surgery removed today. The scar was never swollen nor wet, and because our vet is great in stitching surgical scars, one will see nothing in one to two weeks.
Ula is totally back to herself: she "talks" to me when she dislikes something, she only does what she wants, demands for attention persistently and is allowed to jump on the couch again. I am thrilled how fast and well she recoverd from her surgery at that age. Even eating the diet food nearly works perfectly now. On some days she even accepts the enzymes directly on the food.
In a month there will be another blood check as well as an x-ray to see how the liver values are and how the pancreas looks like. And because Ula is doing so well she is allowed to travel with Hippie (von Shinbashi HIGH PROVOCATION) and me to Croatia tomorrow, so that I can be sure that she gets her daily medication and also takes them. To prevent the risk of heartworm the vet gave her a spot-on.

Today would be the birthday of Arwa Z. (ARWA Zevar CS, SchH 1). A candle has been lit for her. She is still so very much missed ......
April 20, 2019:
I have to get supplies of the liquid diet food from the clinic, as Ula prefers this at the moment mostly. She is rather picky at this point, wishes variety of food on the one side, and on the other side she likes the liquid most. The past two days have been an up and down concerning her medication: as soon as she smells the enzymes on her food she does not touch it. So now she gets everything - the enzymes, antibiotics, pain killer and a supplement for the liver with a syringe directly into her mouth immediately after eating. Else things went better and better each and every day with Ula. To let the vet see how she proceeds, she will join me.
April 18, 2019:
Today in the afternoon I could get Ula home. She made very good advancementsie and therefore, nothing spoke against a dismission from the clinic.
The joy about meeting each other again was big on both sides. Ula is tired but in good mood. Now she needs diet food which we got in the clinic, and for the pancreas she needs enzymes in the food or directly after eating, 10 days antibiotics and for 4 days pain killer. On April 25th the stitches shall be removed.
April 17, 2019:
Ula is doing well according to the phone call of the clinic. If she continues this way I can go and pick her up tomorrow.
April 16, 2019:
At a health check last week it turned out that Ula (Multi-Champ. Family Song's ULA) has pancreatitis and problems with the gall bladder. Today the gall bladder will be removed and Ula will have to stay in the clinic for two to three days.
With mixed feelings I drove to the clinic with Ula: Scared that she is going to have problems with anesthesia with her over 14 years of age, but also the words of the vet in my ears that she has huge chances even at her age, that she will handle everything without complication.
With a heavy heart I left my special darling behind in the veterinary clinic and waited at home patienttly for the promised phone call of the vet in the evening. When the call came only good news were told to me: anasthesia handled perfectly, Ula walks already around and has even eaten - not by herself but she took everything that was offered to her by hand. Tmorrow noon I will be informed again.

It is 18 years ago that Sambo (SAMBO de la Chaume du Bois Dieu) was born. He was the one which I rescued at the age of 11 years because he was not longer welcome at his owners.
And 17 years ago my Briard G litter de la Maison du Garde-Barrière was born. Dam was the unforgotten Oh-Lala (Sel. OH-LALA des Monts d'en Crauzille), sire was JOLLY JUMPER GRIS des Monts d'en Crauzille.
In remembrance of all of them a candle has been lit, so that on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge they can see that they are in my thoughts.

This weekend I took part at a handling and grooming seminar under instructions of worldwide known handler Javier Gonzalez Mendikote in der Slowakei teil. Es war beeindruckend und sehr, sehr lehrreich. What an honor to learn under such a perons. Hopefully it is realizeable for me in the future to do everything right. ...... So many things to learn in just two days can overwhelm a bit. Lot of thanks to Javier for the effort, persistence and patience with all participants. When I meet him next time at a show I hope he is reasonably pleased with my "work".

Sending best wishes for the birthday to the Caipirinha's L litter (born 2009) and the Caipirinha's M litter (born 2010). All out of these litters are for sure very much spoiled today.
To Lee Marvin these wishes go to the other side of the Rainbow Bridge ...... he left forever on December 4, 2016. For him a candle is shining.

Today it is 5 years ago that Frizzy (FRIZZANTE FURIOSO GRIS de la Maison du Garde-Barrière) started his journey over the Rainbow Bridge. He is still missed like on the first day. A candle has been lit for him.
